The Role

A fantastic opportunity has become available for an organised Trainee Estimator/ Assistant to Technical Services Manager with a keen eye for detail to join a growing concrete floor grinding company who are specialists in their field.

The key purpose of this new role is to support the Technical Services Manager and Contracts Manager in the smooth running of the department office.

Although the role will be mainly office based and general office duties will be part of the successful candidate's daily routine, occasional site visits will be required to gather information and better understand the position.

Office based duties will involve receiving enquiries and assisting in the preparation of estimates and quotes for clients around the globe, reading drawings and analysing technical survey information. Although full training will be given in this aspect, experience in the construction or civil engineering industry would assist the successful candidate. Further duties include office administration; setting up hard and electronic files, raising purchase orders and distributing information to a range of parties.

There will also be an element of business development through analysis of a range of media to identify potential leads.

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with good communication skills and a willingness to learn, to further their construction knowledge and support a growing business.

The company is able to support continued study through the offer of day release or similar for the right candidate.

Essential Skills and experience in any of the following:
- Construction or civil engineering related qualification - HNC, HND, Btech
- Driving Licence
- Excellent computer skills; particularly with Word and Excel
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Keen eye for detail

Any experience in the following areas would be an advantage:
- Experience within the construction or civil engineering industry
- Preparation of estimates and quotes
- CSCS card

They would like you to be:
- Interested in developing an understanding of the concrete flooring industry
- Organised and able to prioritise
- Articulate and numerate
- Able to work effectively as a team and independently
