This is an opportunity to join a small, friendly, HR and development consultancy of about 10 people, split between the HR team, the OD (organisational development - talent/L&D, strategic change) team and support team, based in Ottershaw, Surrey. Typically, they help businesses by delivering HR support (such as recruitment or performance management), coaching, training, and larger organisational change or development projects (such as creating a learning organisation).

They are offering a 3 month paid internship to an ambitious student or graduate (under- or postgraduate qualifications) who is keen on developing practical, transferable skills for a future career in HR.

They are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.

The rate of pay offered for this position is dependant on age as per national minimum wage, and for the term of this contract equates to a range between £2,876 - £3,597.

Key responsibilities
- Research new ideas to assist their MD and the rest of the team with preparing client proposals and training materials
- Attend client meetings with their MD and other members of the team, taking meeting notes and summarising these into action points
- Assist their MD with project management of key pieces of work, keeping on top of potential road blocks, and working with support staff to meet client deadlines
- Support the HR consultant team with administrative tasks, such as drafting contracts, amending policies and writing letters
- Support the whole team in all other duties and projects as required including preparing course materials, daily administration tasks, preparing presentations and data analysis

The successful candidate will…

- Currently be in undergraduate study, or have graduated with a 1st or 2:1 in the last 3 years (a degree relevant to HR is desirable)
- You must have exceptional writing skills, with the ability to articulate thoughts and conversations well onto paper, whilst adding own insight
- Must be proactive, and a self-starter, you must be able to use your own initiative when required
- You must be able to work with a consistently high level of attention to detail, be methodical and someone who is an organised 'starter/finisher' when it comes to tasks
- Being a team player is exceptionally important - they take pride in helping each other
- Have advanced skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Must be flexible and able to travel to London. Work pattern likely to be 4 days in Ottershaw, 1 day in London (travel costs will be covered)
- You must be willing and eager to accept a few challenging tasks in order to develop yourself and gain experience
