This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading precision engineering business as a Quality Engineer based in Bradford.

As quality engineer you will be reporting to the Quality Manager and will have two main functions to your role; you will be tasked with supporting the production team to ensure the highest quality standards are maintained from receipt of the raw materials, through the machining process and onto the packing and distribution of the finished product. You will be investigating Non-Conformances, investigating root cause and putting in place corrective actions. In addition to this you will also be responsible for carrying out audits in line with the company's internal audit schedule. As the business is working to towards the updated ISO9001:2015 standard, knowledge and experience of auditing to ISO9001:2015 standards would be an advantage.

This is a leading precision engineering business who supply products to a diverse range of customers. They have invested in state of the art machinery and have further investment planned.

• Demonstrate effectively handling customer complaints including liaison with all stakeholders i.e. production, customers, suppliers, etc. Log the complaint and root cause, correction and corrective action solution
• Demonstrate effective root cause investigation and problem resolution skills resulting in verifiable corrective and preventive actions.
• Use PFMEA tools to establish SOP suitability for all manufacturing / supply processes.
• Monitor supplier performance and control of non-conforming product actions.
• Understand and control the company’s calibration system including both internal and external verifications. Maintain calibration records for all measurement equipment at the defined interval ensuring traceability to national standards.
• Demonstrate knowledge and promote the Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems to colleagues and in particular with regard to performance, corrective actions and problem solving. Ideally NEBOSH/IOSH certified
• Demonstrate management representative responsibilities for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001, including external registration certification audits.
• Lead planned internal audits as prescribed on the internal audit schedule for QHSE.
• Demonstrate an effective understanding of measurement techniques and the devices used to determine conformity to specifications.
• Demonstrate competence in the use of specialised inspection equipment and procedures, interpretation of results and production of written inspection reports.
• Demonstrate competence in internet communication with respect to web-based information portals, technical standards review and questionnaire assessments, e.g. FPAL, Exostar, etc.
• Demonstrate competence in completing Customer or Supplier QHSE questionnaires.
• Control records for Production routers, Material traceability, Training, Maintenance and Waste Management.
• Promote, develop and communicate requirements embodied in the ISO 9001, AS 9100 an API Q1 quality management system to colleagues.
• Perform inspection release activities for product conformity to ISO 9001, AS 9100 and API Q1, 6A and 17D.

As Quality Engineer you will have the opportunity to use a wide range of lean tools to problem solve and put in place corrective actions and long term fixes. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of:
• 8D / CAR writing
• Process Control Plans
• Internal auditing
• strong understanding of ISO9001:2015
