My client, a leading Financial Services firm with a strong UK & European presence, requires a qualified accountant with expertise (minimum 6-8 years' experience) in preparing statutory accounts to help prepare, review and maintain it's company accounts. You will join as an Interim Finance Manager and be an SME in regulatory reporting, FSA returns (under BIPRU) and accounting standards. UK GAAP or IFRS accounting experience is essential and knowledge ofOracle or Hyperion is desirable but not a prerequisite for the role. Key responsibilities include - Assistance in the co-ordination and preparation of statutory accounts, monthly results and any related working papers - Provide input into technical accounting and finance projects as required - Review of monthly reporting packs for designated Company entities - Responsible for reviewing FSA returns follow up - Ensuring that Finance policies are implemented correctly and adhered to - Ensuring that regulatory reporting processes meet the overall Group's control standards - Developing relationships with internal stakeholders including Finance, Audit, Risk, Legal & Compliance - Becoming established as an SME for finance and regulatory reporting issues - Provide ad hoc support to senior management and the business on all regulatory issues as required. Competencies Required - Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken - Ability to build strong working relationships with internal stake-holders - Knowledge of risk environment - Strong stakeholder and project management skills across all levels of the business - Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to present detailed analysis in clear and concise reports - High degree of numeracy and very strong Excel skills is essential. - Strong project management skills. - Demonstrable track record of project delivery and experience handling multiple projects simultaneously - Experience developing, implementing and discussing procedural changes with the business. - Experience in Financial Services in banking, capital markets, investment management firms, consulting (financial services) or at the regulator on prudential matters - Good knowledge of the financial services industry, related to regulatory capital management regulation and practices - Ability to research and interpret internal and external best practice regulatory requirements, and make improvements to existing practices
