Software Engineer with a strong understanding in full development life-cycle using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, NoSQL/MongoDB, JMS/ActiveMQ/Apache Camel, Jenkins/Hudson, Docker, DevOps (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Linux), AWS, TDD & Agile is urgently required to join an renowned gaming software house based in Central London.

As a Software Engineer, you will be part of a small Agile development team working real-time applications and products for a multi-million customer base across the UK, Europe, US and Asia. You'll be hands-on in your development approach using Java 8, Spring, Spring Boot, NoSQL databases (MongoDB/Cassandra), ActiveMQ/Apache Camel and help outline the DevOps approaches within the team, working closely with the QA's, using Docker, Chef, Ansible, Jenkins/Hudson and AWS on modern micro-services based architecture.

Your added responsibilities will involve ensuring ensure clean, concise code is produced within the team whilst work with the Team Lead and product owners ensuring best practise (TDD) is followed in a highly Agile environment.

This position will provide the opportunity to work in the exciting space of Big Data (Hadoop, Spark, Hbase, Hive) with the possibility to migrate your skills into this specified area of the business.

Previous experience working in a proper continuos deployment environment using Jenkins or Hudson is highly desired.

Technical & Soft Skills Checklist:

  • 3+ years commercial experience using Core Java (preferably Java 8)
  • Developed understanding in Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud
  • Exposure to NoSQL databases (MongoDB/Cassandra/Neo4j)
  • Message-driven architecture or ActiveMQ/RabbitMQ/Apache Camel/JMS
  • DevOps approach using Docker, Chef, Ansible
  • Test-Driven mentality using Junit or Mockito
  • Commercial use of continuos integration using Jenkins or Hudson tools
  • Big Data exposure (Hadoop, Spark, Hbase, Hive) is desired
  • Proactive personality
  • Good communication skills
