Your role

As a Solutions Architect, you will engage with business stakeholders to shape, scope, and design solutions that deliver the desired business outcomes for customers. You will have overall accountability for the production of the end-to-end solution designs, ensuring that these meet best practice design principles, which you will also help shape over time.

Your role will involve:

  • Leading the development and delivery of flexible, scalable, reusable, cost effective and reliable end-to-end solution designs whilst promoting an ethos of service excellence throughout
  • Ensuring that the design and statement of requirements aligns with the customer’s IT strategy
  • Drive the design decision-making process by articulating options and implications, ensuring the design is appropriate, flexible and robust
  • Documenting the high-level design of the end-to-end deliverables to ensure that development teams have a clear and defined vision to deliver against
  • Project managing work streams and ensuring integration across internal delivery teams and vendor delivery teams, to deliver the solution and the outcome
  • Acting as a contact point for resolution of requirement and design issues
  • Ensuring compliance with defined standards and reviewing the work of others
  • Project manage the technical on-boarding of new clients
  • Develop business cases and presentations,for internal and external stakeholders, in response to business needs
  • Actively drive pre-sales technical activity for prospective customers, working closely with colleagues in the Sales & Marketing team, advising customers and gathering requirements
  • Build strong customer relationships, through our Account Management structure, ensuring that their needs are met and expectations appropriately managed
  • Act as a senior technical consultant to Support Services team, as required, providing advice on managing and resolving complex Support cases
  • Provide guidance and advice to less experienced colleagues to ensure the continued development of the team
What we need from you

  • Extensive experience of requirements gathering, and the ability to deliver solution designs, including for complex requirements
  • Broad understanding of IT infrastructure, networking and applications
  • Experience of working with and an understanding of Public, Private and Hybrid Clouds
  • Strong analysis skills,both business and technical
  • Excellent verbal and written communication as well as organisational skills
  • Demonstrable experience of working with senior business stakeholders and influencing business thinking
  • Professional and friendly approach with excellent relationship building skills
  • Good influencing and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive and dynamic - able to take ownership of issues and resolve problems
  • Ability to build genuine and strong working relationships with colleagues
  • Ability to inspire and promote an ethos of service excellence
  • Able to drive and deliver process improvement internally
  • High level of personal commitment and standards
