Salary up to £45,000 per annum dependent on experience + 3% flexible benefits + on target bonus of 10% + contributory pension

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Director of Audit, Risk & Compliance you will lead, plan and undertake Internal Audit reviews across the Lowell Group.

You will have the opportunity to produce reports of findings, recommendations and provide positive assurance whilst building and managing key stakeholder relationship establishing a good working rapport and effective buy in of audit routine.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Essential:

• Internal Audit or relevant financial services experience

• Report writing skills

• Written and verbal communication skills and analytical skills

• Problem solving and analytical skills

• Ability to deal with risks and actions issues in a logical and organised manner

• Attention to detail

• Ability to work to tight timelines

• Experience of audit work from the planning stages onwards

• Experience or exposure to change lifecycle is desirable

QUALIFICATIONS

A recognised professional qualification such as:

• CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants)

• ACA (Association of Chartered Accountants)

• ACCA (Certified Chartered Accountant)

• CIPFA (Public Finance Accountant)

• IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors)

• CISA – Certified Information Systems Auditor

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Apply internal control concepts in a wide variety of settings, and appropriately assess the exposures resulting from ineffective or missing control practices

• Use company statistics and dashboards to assess the focus of the audit routine within the company and recommend courses of action along with audit findings

• Work with External auditors to ensure the programme of work does not produce duplication and any issues identified are incorporated into audit system

• To maintain, improve and communicate the audit issue log to allow for closure of actions within the management team and to report through to the Operational Risk and Control Committee and Audit Committee where necessary

• To proactively keep up to date with any regulatory and industry themes and risks

• Conduct ad hoc reviews and special investigations as requested from time to time by management
