A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Finance Manager to join an SME construction company with a current turnover of circa £35m and going through an exciting period of growth. This position is reporting to the Head of Finance and Directors and would suit a commercially astute and highly motivated 'hands on’ accountant. The successful candidate will ideally have experience within the construction / property sector and be a confident character with excelllent communication skills and the motivation to work within this fast paced and dynamic industry. Our client are looking for someone with a proven track record of developing processes and with the ability to offer stragetic and financial management.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Preparation of timely monthly management accounts
  • Calculation of accruals & prepayments
  • Preparation and submission of monthly CIS returns
  • Preparation and review of quarterly VAT returns
  • Posting of sales and purchase ledgers and daily bookkeeping duties
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Responsible for budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Review processes / controls and improve efficiencies
  • Assist with Payroll
  • Commercial input on the development of the business

Desirables:

  • Qualified Accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA
  • Construction / Property Industry experience
  • Experience using Sage
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
