Accounts Payable Manager - up to £30,000 - Milton Keynes

Working hours: 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday

Key Purpose of the Job
The post holder is responsible for the smooth and accurate running of the Accounts Payable function and for maintaining good relations with internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities (full spec available on request)

  • Supervise team members (team of 3) to ensure the department runs efficiently and effectively including:
    • Providing updates and training for new employees / processes
    • Regular 1-2-1's with team members
    • Absence management
    • Setting and delivering team objectives and personal development plans
    • Ensuring adequate cover is in place in the absence of other team members
  • Review weekly/monthly payment runs prior to authorisation and processing
    • Develop and embed a new process to guarantee that all invoices received by the department are processed with the correct authorisation
  • Ensure that new suppliers are fully validated
  • Produce, review and clear down the monthly aged creditor reports
  • Ensure all statements are reconciled and followed up
  • Ensure full compliance with the purchase order process
  • Engage with suppliers to extend purchase order usage and encourage centralisation of invoice processing
  • Process head office cheque requisitions, ready for authorisation
  • Reconcile direct debit accounts and liaise with other departments
  • Review direct debit accounts, identify accounts that can be moved over to BACS and implement accordingly
  • Deal with supplier queries and be the escalation point for any supplier/internal issues that your team may have
  • Undertake ad hoc duties / projects as required
