Salary: £24,000 to £30,000, dependant on experience

My client is looking to recruit a Merchandiser / Trader to join the team.
As a Product Merchandiser / Product Trader with my client, you’ll be working closely within one of our consumer electrical categories to maximise profitability by predicting and monitoring sales and stock levels, helping the buyer with range selection, by trading the price, promoting on our different websites and channels, driving cost effective traffic via the traffic team and focusing on improving conversion.
This is an exciting opportunity to really get autonomy within a role and make a difference, as you’ll be responsible for delivering the P&L of one of our more important product categories.

Reporting to the Buyer but with a high degree of autonomy, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the right goods are available in the right quantities, and that they’re being sold at the right price. You will also work closely with our technical and creative web teams to improve sales across our various websites and channels, which you’ll do by constantly analysing customer behaviour and trading on price, position and promotions. You will use a variety of data sources including our Data Warehouse together with ecommerce tools such as Google Analytics, ClickTail and Heatmaps to analyse customer conversion and on our websites and to drive ROI.
It’ll come as no surprise that you’ll need to be highly analytical, with excellent abilities in manipulating data. Previously you would have worked within either a retail or supply chain environment, with strong commercial acumen, to really support mature problem solving. You must really care about the detail, have a strong interest in products. You will also be able to communicate well in particular write compelling product copy, translating product features into benefits. As for your personality traits, it is key that you are a strong character, self-motivated, and a self-starter who is looking to develop and succeed within a growing team and company.
