Market Data Analyst

I am currently working with a leading, multi-channel retail brand, who can only be described a true Manchester institution, being part of the city's fabric for over a century. We are looking for a driven, pro-active and passionate Market Data Analyst who wants to be part of a growing, ambitious and fun Marketing team.

The Role
Reporting into the Segmentation and Selections Manager, the role of Market Data Analyst will be to develop analytical solutions to improve the trading performance and efficiency of Scorecard and Segmentation systems. You will utilise a variety of statistical techniques from modelling, machine learning, and data mining to make predictions about future customer behaviour.
1.Apply expertise in data preparation, statistics, and machine learning to investigate complex problems in various domains, such as marketing optimisation or personalisation.
2.Project management skills for reviewing, redeveloping and implementing propensity models and segmentation systems.
3.Contribute to the research for assessment, introduction and rollout of tools and technology platforms for analytics, automation, insights and visualization.
4.Utilising a constantly evolving range of data sources and tools, extract knowledge and insight to help the business meet its goals and improve its performance.
5.Lead the adoption of new data based solutions and technology cross functionally into business processes.
6.Lead and manage induction/training programmes for analysts and business users.
7.Empower and partner with key decision makers to ensure timely, comprehensive and insightful information that has business impact.
8.Prioritise business problems that have the most value to the organization
9.Ability to train individuals external to Customer Insight with the correct use of scorecard and segmentation.

Market Data Analyst Requirements
This role requires a logical thinker who is able to analyse, interpret and provide compelling insight and has a proven track record in the development and application of propensity scorecard and segmentation systems.
*The successful candidate must have exceptional skills in marketing analytics, digital analytics, team leadership and be able to drive change in a large organization
*Previous knowledge of advanced customer analytics using tools such as SAS / SQL / SPSS and have an appreciation of open source tools.
*A proven track record in an analytical role, experience in assisting in website performance development and project management skills.
*Demonstrated ability to quickly appraise complex situations, identify key issues and make tough, timely decisions
*Line management experience
*Comprehensive knowledge and experience in data analysis, reporting, data warehousing, physical and logical data modelling, statistical analysis tools, data governance and master data management.
*Interpersonal skills are key as this is a highly cross functional role. Ability to engage Senior Managers as key stakeholders and bring influence at all levels of the business.
*Commercially aware and capable of interpreting business needs and requirements in a compelling and understandable way.
*Ability to scale large data sets and extract relevant insights in a timely manner.

A competitive package of £28,000 - £37,000 is offered along with generous corporate benefits.
