ACCOUNT MANAGER - YORK - PERMANENT - £17,000 PLUS COMMISION

Job brief:

Due to expansion my client is looking for a passionate Account Manager who will ensure the long-term success of our customers.
You will be responsible for developing long-term relationships with a portfolio of assigned customers, connecting with key buyers and others involved in the supply chain process. You will liaise between customers and internal/external sales teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our products according to customer needs.

Responsibilities:

- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
- Increasing customer orders with add-on sales and identifying cross-sell opportunities
- Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our products/services according to customer needs and objectives
- Communicate clearly the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to the management team
- Identify and grow your geographical territory through telemarketing campaigns and new business prospecting. New business is a large focus of this role

- Call prospective new customers and generate leads for external counterpart to follow up and convert
- Assist with high severity requests or issue escalations as needed
- Other general day-to-day office duties

Requirements:

The position is full time and permanent. The successful candidate should demonstrate the following attributes:-

- Previous sales/account management experience is essential
- Excellent telephone manner
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft office packages i.e Word, Excel, Outlook
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Self-starter and able to manage ones time effectively
- A willingness to learn
- Ability to work competently as part of a team or individually
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence key people within the sales process
