Clive Page of REED Engineering is currently seeking an electrically biased Engineering / Production Coordinator for a client in the Wigan area. The company is a market leader in their niche industry and is part of a billion pound multi-national group. The position is a mixture of coordinating the production process, providing technical support to Field Engineers, business administration, and involvement in the tendering process both with suppliers and clients across Europe. The role is based within the company’s production facility but approximately 5% of time will involve travel mainly in Benelux, Germany, France and Spain

Job specification

1. MI (Machine Intelligence)
a. Administrative tasks of maintaining a register of MI units for the EU on the companies Operational Data Base (ODB)
b. Routine analysis of MI performance which involves,
i. Placement auditing
ii. Creating replacement schedules and monitoring completion of allocated field technician jobs in the UK & EU

2. ISO/ Quality work ECR (Engineering Change Requests) ECN (Engineering Change Notice)
a. ISO compliance work
b. QC role for workshop production, processing of non-compliance submissions and ECN implementation
c. Dealing with ECRs raised by Production or Service

3. Engineering work – assist with the following sourcing
a. European equipment tendering process
b. European parts sourcing Project
c. Parts rationalisation Project
d. Dealing with queries from engineers in the field (technical support)


• BEng in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Full, valid UK driving licence.

Core skills

a. Performing administrative tasks in an office setting
b. Proficiency with computer programs, such as Microsoft OneNote and Excel, and database systems
c. Collecting and interpreting data
d. Reading and understand technical documentation
e. English - advance in speech and writing
f. Knowledge of Microcontrollers and programming

2. Attention to detail is important, the ability to think for oneself and to take responsibility.
3. Has a personal interest in all aspects of Technical Engineering
4. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to produce consistently accurate work and meet deadlines with a minimum of supervision.

Salary and benefits guide

1. Salary guide: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum.
2. 20 days holiday per annum, excluding Public Holidays.
3. Office hours are 8.00am - 5.00pm.
4. Company vehicle – Use of a company Van / Car will be provided.
