An exciting new opportunity for a Merchandiser to work for an International major online/E-commerce organisation in the Burnley area. The company My client is an International Online Retailer, a leader in their field. They are looking for a passionate Merchandiser to join their dynamic, fast paced team with experience of e-commerce /managing website merchandise and stock management. The role:

The role will be reporting to the Merchandising Manager and is heavily involved assisting and building range plans by category, forecasting sales and stock, reporting on opportunities and providing solutions for risk management. You will be planning and managing intake, working with the design team, the warehouse and suppliers and also be managing visual merchandising of the website. Responsibilities:

  • Assist with running of weekly reports covering Sales, Stock, POs and Cover
  • Review data and provide insight into figures. Form recommendations to discuss with the Merchandise Manager and agree proposed actions to drive sales and margin
  • Placing UK supplier orders on a weekly basis within the agreed budgets, minimising risk and maximising sales potential by analysing sales and prioritising bestselling/lowest cover lines
  • Forecasting weekly sales, stock & intake at category level
  • Production of management information reports including trend analysis and commentary on stock
  • Analysing slow moving stock and create the best solution to reduce stock holding whilst maximising turnover
  • Plays an active role in the planning of budgets by category, option count and depth of buy based on the overall financial goals of the division
  • Raise product range POs as required by the Merchandise Manager. Work with the Merchandise Manager to carry out size ratio analysis to use on the buys
  • Perform website checks to ensure the product range covered looks as desired on the web
  • Advise improvement suggestions and work with the Brand Managers to enact change requirements that drive sales and customer experience
  • Assist the Merchandiser with Critical Path maintenance to deliver key tasks in a timely manner
  • Flag potential issues surrounding the critical path to the Merchandiser
  • Carry out weekly reviews of stock by channel to ensure stock is utilised in the most efficient channel
  • Propose and execute actions to drive sales and profitability


  • Min of 2 years online merchandising experience
  • Online/Ecommerce merchandising experience
  • Excellent Analytical Skills and a background in merchandising / purchasing
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant subject, preferable Business IS/IT
  • Commercially driven with excellent communication skills and a background in online retail trading

Offering a basic salary of £25,000 to £30,000 depending on relevant experience, flexi hours core being 9:30-3:30, bonus scheme, childcare vouchers, staff discount, 32 days holiday (including bank holidays)
