Our client, located in Cwmbran, is looking for an Accounting Manager to join their team. The Accounting Manager will manage the accounting functions for multiple facilities. They will be responsible for implementing accounting principles, practices and procedures, to ensure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with local GAAP, US GAAP and company policies. The Accounting Manager will also be responsible for managing a team of Staff Accountants to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner and that internal controls are in place and functioning properly. They will work closely with the Controllers and Finance Managers, as well as Operations, to ensure overall general ledger and forecasting integrity. They will ensure that best practices and continuous improvement initiatives are in place to ensure all processes within Shared Services are standardized and optimized.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Ensure overall general ledger integrity.
  • Coordinate accurate and timely month-end activities.
  • Identify and implement best practices.
  • Coordinate SOX, Internal, and External audit engagements.
  • Initiate, recommend or provide SOX/audit remediation solutions through designated channels.
  • Verify the implementation of SOX/audit remediation solutions.
  • Timely and accurate submission of annual Corporate and Tax reporting requirements.
  • Statutory Accounts
  • Ensures compliance to Standards of Business Conduct through familiarity with related finance policies and procedures. Train and motivates associates in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures.
  • Reviews, monitors and controls monthly and quarterly balance sheet reviews.
  • Publish meeting minutes and action items resulting from review.
  • Manages subordinates in their job duties to ensure Accounting data integrity

Other Responsibilities:

  • Support shared services initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Motivate and encourage subordinates to increase knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years’ experience in a discipline of Finance
  • Demonstrated growth progression within Finance discipline
  • Willingness to travel
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows and Software (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Oracle 11i/R12)
  • Strong analytical and project management skills


  • Accounting Qualification
  • Experience managing multiple balance sheets in a dynamic manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment, collaborate with team members within and outside of his/her department
  • Experience of managing a team is highly desirable
  • High integrity, excellent work ethic, customer service orientated, ability to think outside of the box and ability to mentor and coach different types of subordinate/s.
