We are recruiting for a Special Educational Needs support worker to support 1:1 with a child, with their studies.

The School

The School is an independent residential special school for up to 84 boys aged between eight and 16 years. All pupils have a statement of special educational needs, mostly relating to their behavioural, emotional and social difficulties. Established in 1976, the school aims to promote the healthy, physical and emotional development of all of its pupils through a balanced, progressive and responsive approach to education, care and therapy.

The Role

Successful candidates will be supporting pupils of primary ages and abilities, meaning excellent communication skills are a must. Experience with SEN Statements is vital.

The ideal individual will have:

• Relevant SEN / TA Qualifications
• Team - Teach
• Knowledge of curriculum
• UK School experience
• Experience working with Challenging Behaviours
• An excellent classroom presence

Additional skills and / or training in areas such as Makaton, BSL, Use of Hoists and other relevant knowledge associated with EBD, MLD, SLD and PLD would also be an advantage.
