Product Marketing Manager
£45,000 - £50,000 plus excellent benefits

Product marketing is by definition the promoting and selling of a product to an audience. Nothing new there! However, what makes it especially important, and all the more difficult to perform successfully, is that it is one of the few functions that touches product, marketing, and sales.

Working for this cutting edge Cambridge based business you'll be doing all of the above in droves, and a whole lot more. The products you will be working with are technical in nature and this is a high performance culture where you will fully own the marketing strategy for your product, from creating the plans through to delivering the activity, and everything in between!

Your collaboration with the engineering team will be equally as important as your relationship with the other departments, particularly due to the need for you to absorb and translate technical information. To make these relationships work you'll need to have first class communication skills and be able to take a commercial view when putting ideas forward.

You'll have the freedom to identify where to spend your time and efforts. It will be up to you to set the direction for your area by performing your own market and competitor research, analysis of market data, before developing your marketing strategy and executing the appropriate activities in support of this. There will be plenty of support for you along the way with the likes of PPC and digital campaigns being run by colleagues. At the tactical end you will be involved with writing and promoting content, such as blogs and case studies, etc. The remainder of your time being spent working with development teams to influence product direction and the taking of new products to market.

It goes without saying that you will need to be an experienced marketing professional, ideally from within a technical environment, however, at the very least you will need to have a genuine affiliation for technical products and be passionate about this sector. The role offers a fine balance of strategic and hands-on marketing, so you will need to be able to demonstrate your ability to perform both aspects to a high level. You will have first class communication skills, good writing and content experience, and the ability to influence and project manage effectively.
