Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working in partnership with Arches Housing in Sheffield, as they look to drive forward following an internal restructure. Arches Housing have been operating since 1975, with an emphasis on providing quality, affordable housing in South Yorkshire communities. The organisation is based in the heart of the Sheffield City region, and are looking to expand their operations over the region over the coming years.

Having made a surplus in the previous year, the Association is in good stead and wants to continue that development further by adding a talented and driven individual into a key role in the new and improved structure that is to be implemented. The Senior Management Team are looking for determined and charismatic leaders during this exciting period of transition as they look to deliver their strategic plan which is centred around putting customers at the heart of what they do. Given the plans for further growth and development - ambitious individuals will be welcomed on board.

A new role for a Finance Manager has been created to provide key support to the Director of Corporate Services and take ownership over the successful operation and continuous improvement of the Finance function. This person will be tasked with leading the Financial Change Management projects that are being rolled out across the Association - meaning a dynamic personality is a must.

This is a varied role, combining technical accounting processes, alongside commercial and operational involvement - and the Finance Manager will be expected to liaise with Budget-holders, External Auditors, Contractors, Suppliers and other Non-Finance staff in order to achieve an over-arching view of the whole financial picture for the organisation. Managing cash flow, financial forecasting and modelling, overall control of the ledgers and implementation of new processes are all integral and interesting aspects that this position's duties will cover.

You will manage a small team that is extremely capable and personable, and whose experience will be invaluable to draw upon. The Finance Manager will take the lead in the development and delivery of the organisations Value For Money programme, which is a key consideration in the strategic expansion of Arches.

Experience in a similar organisation is desirable but not necessarily essential if the right individual can showcase the mixture of strong accounting skills and a commercial and logical mind set. Qualifications are essential due to the regulatory nature in certain aspects of the role.
