We are extremely proud to be working alongside this FTSE listed Global media organisation with headquarters based in London with multiple brands based locally and internationally. Due to the expanding nature of their global procurement function, there is a vacancy for an IT Category Manager to support the team procuring across all hardware and software sub-categories across the business and wider brands. This role would suit a "self-starting" candidate who can demonstrate experience in Microsoft enterprise agreements and can demonstrate using their own initiative to proactively investigate IT budgets to quickly determine cost saving opportunities. The environment lends itself to candidates who prefer to work autonomously and achieve consistent results doing so.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Manage end to end procurement activity across Hardware and Software categories
  • Utilise strategic sourcing and supplier relationship techniques to deliver further financial and operational value
  • Develop and implement annual category plans using data analysis
  • Proactively investigate IT budgets to identify potential opportunities
  • Build and lead cross functional project teams to address initiatives identified
  • Manage key suppliers performance effectively providing feedback against KPI's to drive expected improvements
  • Communicating and influencing stakeholders to Director level to gain commitment and buy-in to strategy
  • Manage project teams accordingly to deliver initiatives using basic project management tools
  • Using stakeholder and supplier networks, identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Manage all BAU activity such as supplier selection, supplier set-up, contract terms, negotiation etc
  • Develop and deliver process and policy improvement when necessary

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 years Procurement experience
  • Ideally CIPS or MCIPS qualifications
  • Advanced data analysis skills
  • Ability to manage cross functional project teams
  • Demonstrated delivery through strategic sourcing principle
  • Strong verbal and written influencing skills
  • Autonomous self-starter
