About the role

To source, develop and secure Page One messaging revenue within Local and Central Government/NHS and MOD sectors within a specified geographical area ("the Territory") or other accounts as allocated.

Your responsibilities -

  • To successfully source, develop and convert new business prospects for the maximum penetration of PageOne messaging services within the Territory

  • To identify and develop new revenue opportunities through the successful horizontal/vertical penetration of existing accounts, to maximise the cross-sell/up-sell of additional services within the Territory.

  • To deliver a consultative, problem-solving approach to identifying and satisfying client applications for PageOne mobile messaging services within the Territory.

  • To develop and cultivate relationships within the Territory in order to position PageOne as a first choice provider of messaging services to satisfy current and/or future customer requirements.

  • To maximise the Territory revenue potential from designated contract re-signs through a balanced approach to re-sign risk versus revenue risk.

  • To work closely with the internal departments in support of first-class service delivery and development.

  • To act quickly and efficiently on internally or externally generated leads, to maximise the business potential.

  • To achieve Company and personal sales targets, objectives and KPI's as defined from time to time.

  • To produce accurate monthly business reports, including forecasts, with accurate timescales and projected revenues.

  • To ensure all customers, contacts and opportunities are fully documented and to manage and update information within the Salesforce database.

  • To provide customer and market feedback to Marketing as a feed for product/service development

  • To comply with reporting requirements and administration duties and to maintain regular contact, by written or verbal report, with the National Sales Manager.

Your experience will include:

  • Educated to 'A' level standard or similar business qualification.

  • Four to six years sales experience (average two years per job)

  • Has undertaken formal training in sales skills.

  • Proven track record in a Public Sector and Government/NHS sales - able to demonstrate a successful track-record of winning new accounts and effectively managing and developing accounts.

  • Proven experience and knowledge of Government/NHS procurement and buying processes and the national/regional organisations which support this.

  • Strong IT and technical understanding - communications or messaging industry experience preferred.

  • Highly motivated and self-disciplined - able to work on own initiative, without supervision.

  • Able to demonstrate a structured, consistent and logical approach to new business sales.

  • Can identify problems, create need and implement creative, yet pragmatic solutions.

  • Can demonstrate key skills of persuasive/questioning techniques and active listening.

  • Can establish rapport with customers through an open, consultative friendly approach at account, regional and national level.

  • Excellent telephone skills - conversant in cold-calling, qualifying and appointment-making.

  • High degree of numerical and verbal reasoning skills.

  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills.

  • Able to work unsociable hours with periods spent away from home.

  • Excellent PC skills within MS Office required and a knowledge of Salesforce would be advantage.
