Service Field Engineer (Transport Industry)

Southampton/Basingstoke (M3 corridor) based

£22.5K - £25K plus Vehicle, Laptop, Phone and Fuel card

We have a vacancy for a service field engineer to cover the south of the UK repairing ticket machines at transportation centres. Full training will be given and the work is mostly mechanical replacing component parts. There is a degree of software repairs, involving linking the machines to a laptop provided.

The scheduling of the activities is carried out centrally and communication with the team will make up a large part of the job as well as the repairs and driving to each site.

Time management and planning is important, and also to manage your spare / boot stock levels and assistance can be provided remotely for this also. At the end of your working day you will log your reports with head office and discuss the following day’s activities. Approx max time on each site is 5 to 6 hours with average times at around 3 to 4 hours.

We are looking in particular for looking for a flexible engineer who doesn’t mind the odd early/late shift (flexibility is key for all parties and we will accommodate to suit) depending on the transport centres and when vehicles are available.

A van / laptop and phone will be provided as part of the works as will a fuel card and any out of pocket expenses.

There will be a one stage interview held in Hemel Hempstead.
