Our market leading client design and manufacture over 300 high quality products into the UK and overseas markets. Their continued growth has provided a unique opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead the manufacturing team and implement appropriate changes agreed at SMT level.

The Successful Candidate will:

  • Have have had a progressive career within manufacturing or production engineering.

  • Have the proven ability to conduct a strategic review of our manufacturing facility, identifying and implementing change as required.

  • Be able to strive to improve product quality and service standard.

    Responsibilities include:

  • Join the Senior Management Team responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a manufacturing strategy complementary to the overall business strategy.

  • Manage the Fabrication, Machining, Assembly, Purchasing, Stores, Planning, Production Engineering and Quality functions to achieve demanding delivery and quality requirements.

  • Continuously review the factory layout recommending appropriate changes and implementing those agreed at SMT level.

  • Identify, implement and maintain a policy for component stocking including, but not limited to, make v buy, batch quantities, minimum stock levels / item coverage.

  • Identify and implement initiatives to improve quality and reduce factory lead times.

  • Manage the associated budgets within the manufacturing department to ensure resource levels, overheads, overtime are balanced and maintained.

  • Contribute strategically to the development of the company’s ERP system, with particular reference to BoM structures for products and parts.

  • Promote and develop a culture of process ownership throughout the manufacturing area.

    Essential skills:

  • Solid background within a manufacturing/production environment.

  • Proven leadership, commercial and HR skills.

  • Proven ability to meet targets and deadlines, achieve budgets and develop innovative solutions to challenges.

  • Good understanding of ERP/MRP system functionality and requirements.

  • Ideally qualified to HND/Degree level in an engineering or technical subject.
