Lead National Careers Service Adviser

Location: Based in Worcester (to cover Hereford and Worcester)

Salary: £25,000 per annum

We are seeking a Lead Adviser for the National Careers Service to support the delivery of the contract in Hereford and Worcester.

The role includes support to advisers in the team with their delivery as required, observations of professional practice, monitoring the quality of action plans produced by advisers and supporting the Relationship Manager with identification of new venues for delivery.

As part of the role you will be required to cover the role of an Adviser to provide careers advice to adults via a range of methods including face to face, telephone, email and other digital means to help them to achieve work or learning goals.

Personal Specification

  • Hold, as a minimum, Diploma in Careers Information and Advice or NVQ 4 in Advice & Guidance

  • Experience in delivery of careers advice to adults, individually or in groups, employed and unemployed

  • Must have excellent IT skills with experience of recording information on a database, and pulling off reports

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including working with the media

  • Skilled and competent in delivering careers advice in a range of settings and through a range of delivery modes

  • Well organised, capable of working under pressure, meeting deadlines and targets, manage their own time

  • Ability & flexibility to work in different outreach locations, able to promote the service and maintain relationships with partners.

  • Able to act as a role model to and motivate other advisers

  • Able to work flexible hours at evenings and weekends when required

  • Able to work in a target driven environment, and ability to meet or exceed contract targets
