Membership Support Officer - Cumbria
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team. The Membership Support Officer is responsible for providing management and administrative support to our members across Cumbria and the Isle of Man. This role involves giving guidance on all membership issues and branch management, a wide range of general enquiries and supporting the Cumbria, and the Isle of Man County Chairmen and Committees to ensure their business complies with the Royal Charter, Legion policies and procedures. There is also the opportunity to engage with the Armed Forces community, local authorities and other stakeholders to promote the Legion’s work. The role will also contribute to our wider welfare, representation, and Remembrance activities.
The ideal candidate will be an energetic self-starter able to demonstrate strong relationship building and communication skills with excellent, organisational, administration, IT, and basic accounting ability, and able to work with a degree of autonomy as part of multi-faceted team. The post is based from the RBL’s Cumbria office in Penrith but the ability to be home based is also an option and working flexibly between office, home and on the road is normal.
Working 35 hours per week including some evenings and weekends, the post will involve routine travel across Cumbria, and occasionally the Isle of Man, plus regular travel to the Newcastle main Area Office as required. Experience of working with volunteers and knowledge of the Armed Forces is highly desirable.
