Interaction Recruitment is currently working with a client based near the market town of Saffron Walden who is recruiting for a Head Chef for their operation. This is a very unique position that offers fantastic work/home life balance and the opportunity to push the business forwards.

My client is a popular destination location, based in a rural village near Saffron Walden. Based on a popular fishing location the footfall ranges from regular fishermen, to cyclists and walkers. They offer fresh, scratch made foods in a seasonal menu across breakfast, brunch and lunch. The site currently closes on a Monday and Tuesday and closes at aprox 4/5pm through the rest of the week.

The ideal Head Chef will be able to work independently and be self sufficient, as well as be able to lead and direct a team, adhering to safe practises at all times and delivery consistent and high quality work. The ideal Head Chef will have multiple years of experience within their craft and should be able to demonstrate true passion towards their work.

My client is wanting to develop their business further, to take the success of previous years and build on it further. My client has recently had a large expansion of their kitchen and looking at ways to build and develop the business even further.

Duties include:

  • Work with the team and Management to push the branding of the business forwards, assisting where required with Menu Development and Training.

  • Be fully compliant to all Food Hygiene legislation.

  • Assist in the Development of an innovative style and brand, ensuring high quality food service and ensuring the team does the same.

  • Breakfast Preparation and Service.

  • To maintain a high level of food presentation and preparation across all the sections.

  • Assist in the development and delivery of banqueting events.

  • To ensure good stock management practices, taking sole responsibility for the stock within their kitchen.

  • Assist in the management of Food Hygiene, Food Safety and Allergen legislation and ensure the team follow safe practices and that all company and legal logs are filled out.

  • To act on any reasonable requests.

  • To act on any reasonable requests by the shift leaders.

  • Love what they do on a daily basis and show complete enthusiasm of their role in the Kitchen.

This role has an element of Customer Interaction.

Successful candidates must obtain a valid Level 2 or higher Food Hygiene Certification before start date and ideally hold an Allergen Awareness Certificate.
