Reed Accountancy are pleased to be working with a long established  Award winning Construction company in Chelmsford who require an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their team.

Payroll
• Processing of weekly timesheets for approximately 200 people
• Ensuring correct documentation is received for new starters, expenses etc
• Agree and reconcile all payments, costing, Paye etc
• Dealing with any queries relating to the payroll

Purchase Ledger
• Processing invoices, matching delivery notes, reconciling statements and preparing payments
• Checking authorisations and costs, VAT etc
• Dealing with queries from managers and suppliers
• Preparing cheques, obtaining signatures and posting

Sales Ledger
• Processing of payments received, checking VAT percentages

Nominal Ledger

• Processing bank payments

Other
• Covering reception and switchboard when necessary
• Assist with various reconciliations and analysis including expenses, credit cards, rental income, bank reconciliations, VAT returns etc

This role will require someone with e the following experience:
• At least 3 years experience in an accounting environment
• Excellent communication skills, and enjoy working as part of a team
• Attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work within deadlines
• Flexible, reliable and able to work under pressure
• Experience within the construction industry would be an advantage
