Due to the demand for their equity release products and services they are looking to recruit an experienced Financial Intermediaries Business Development Manager.

Office / telephone based, you will be responsible for the relationship management and the development of business from a pre-defined panel of Financial Intermediaries (FI’s) over the telephone to achieve the delivery of an agreed individual sales plan

Role Accountabilities include:-

  • To be responsible for obtaining business from a pre-defined panel of FIs
  • To maintain a high degree of proactive contact with FI's to secure new opportunities and increased level of quotations issued, driven through outbound calling
  • To assist in the agreement and implementation of an operating plan and ensure that any required corrective action is taken as necessary to ensure successful achievement of plan
  • To assist with the conversion of issued quotations by promoting the service proposition and telephone account management capability
  • Provide a point of contact for the pre-defined panel of FIs
  • To maintain and exceed minimum expected levels of activity, notably telephony activity, in line with department guidelines
  • To attend key external Intermediary facing events in order to pro-actively interact with attendees to build awareness of the proposition, products and services
  • To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of both the companies and competitors' product ranges, legislative and business developments within the industry and to utilise this knowledge in outbound calls
  • To build strong and productive working relationships with both sales and administration staff at all accounts

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experience:-

  • Essential: Must hold CF1 & ER1 qualifications

  • Essential: Technically competent

  • Essential: Willingness to study towards the Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning

  • Preferred: Hold the Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning Qualification or equivalent

  • Essential: Must have a proven sales track record of success of achieving and exceeding sales targets

  • Preferred: Current / previous telephone sales experience

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to create a need
  • Clear focus on results, quality and service

  • Ability to actively manage a diarised process whilst maintaining call rates and a high degree of enthusiasm
  • Flexible approach
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast moving environment
