Are you an experienced Payroll manager looking for the opportunity to join a leading and well-renowned Sheffield based business?

If so, Elevation Senior Finance are currently supporting one of South Yorkshire employer of choice as they look to strengthen their payroll and reward team. The successful candidate will be a key member of the team, leading and mentoring a small but efficient department and acting as the Payroll expert for all aspects of payroll.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

* Excellent payroll processing knowledge
* Strong knowledge of current PAYE and benefits legislations
* Full end to end payroll experience
* To establish and develop pay related policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislation
* Effectively manage the weekly tasks of the payroll team to reflect the priorities of the payroll cycles
* Establish efficient document retrieval for all payroll cycles, ensuring appropriate approvals and audit controls are in place across the department
* To be responsible for the statutory reporting provisions making sure all returns are submitted within statutory deadlines and ensuring processes are as efficient as possible
* Resolving queries with HMRC
* Support the development and testing of the payroll system and be a systems "super user"
* To manage the administration of the company benefits schemes and provide scheme advise to employees
* To provide support in reward cyclical processes, such as annual pay review, bonus process, Group Risk renewals
* Keep up to date with changes in payroll legislation and advise Payroll/HR team of changes which may have an impact on employees
* Proactively monitor department KPI's, making process changes where necessary
* To educate all managers in 'good practice' payroll procedures to ensure accurate returns of time and payroll data
* Actively promote all company benefits to employees and assist with the launch of new initiatives

The successful management accountant will need to be able to demonstrate the following qualifications and experience:

* Working towards or CIPP qualified or equivalent experience
* Expert knowledge of PAYE and benefits legislation e.g. PAE, salary sacrifice
* Experience of leading a team
* Ability to manage an end to end payroll process
* Demonstrable experience of delivering continuous improvement
* Excellent IT skills - Excel, Word, Payroll Systems
* Strong audit and compliance knowledge
