Data Analyst

Job summary

The Data Analyst is primarily responsible for supporting the implementation and support of the company’s software and associated services. This role is specifically geared towards supporting a single large client for the business.

Skills Required

  • Excellent communication skills, managing customer relationships with honesty and diplomacy; resolving potential conflicts, protecting business interests and ensuring both revenue and customer satisfaction are maximised
  • In depth knowledge of data handling and manipulation
  • Good knowledge of SQL scripting for Microsoft SQL Server
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets
  • Problem solving: the ability and motivation to identify solutions to problems, analysing impacts and making recommendation
  • Using knowledge and experience of products and customers’ systems to propose and produce amendments to documentation
  • Knowledge of SQL server integration services, reporting services and analysis services
  • Knowledge of the legislative and business practices needed for implementation
  • A background in housing or asset management would be an advantage

Key Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Backing up and restoring SQL databases
  • Writing SQL scripts to import data into the product
  • Processing and exporting data and producing reports
  • Providing customers and other staff with product support as required
  • Analysing problems and creating solutions; assisting the resolution of time critical problems to maintain the Service Level Agreement
  • Identifying opportunities for improvements to existing processes; investigating and recommending new procedures to benefit the business as a whole
  • Maintaining a minimum 90% utilisation rate for booked time
  • Mentoring and coaching new team members and less experienced team members
  • Seeking own solutions to problems before referring them to colleagues or managers and demonstrating the ability to solve problems in an efficient and innovative way
