Salary starts at £17,000 to 18,500 per annum rising to £23, 000 per annum through performance.

We are looking for an energised and passionate Project Worker like you (known internally by us as a Support Co-ordinator – Level 3) to join our service which provides support to adult ex-offenders. Directions is a unique supported housing service accepting referrals from across West Sussex and providing accommodation with support based in Worthing. We work with both male and female offenders providing 10 bed spaces across three shared houses and a further five self contained studio flats.

As Lead Support Worker you will manage a caseload of clients, working closely with external agencies in delivering person centred support.  We know that one size doesn’t fit all, so our clients lead their own support every step of the way.   Together you will really make a difference, empowering our clients to achieve their goals and aspirations as outlined in their support plans and develop the independent living skills they need to successfully move on with a positive future.

You will help shape our services, undertake risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews. It’s really important to us that you have time to deliver what you are really passionate about; making a real difference to our clients lives.  So to free up your time, you’ll be given the latest IT kit, which could include a Surface Pro tablet and smart phone, supported by our new online integrated IT system which means that you don’t have to be in the office as you can complete support plans on the go.  You’ll also be paid between clients visit and for your mileage too.

A bit about you

We want people like you, who strongly believe that providing support is more than just a job and can make every client feel valued. To flourish in the role, you will be a like-minded dedicated person who can demonstrate compassion, empathy and creativity in your approach and use your unique skills in enabling clients to reach their full potential.  With previous experience of working with vulnerable people in a support or care environment, you will have a great understanding of professional boundaries, safeguarding, risk assessment, confidentiality and be experienced in case management.  It’s also important that you can work in an holistic way building partnerships with external agencies and that you have strong IT skills too.

The service is delivered Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 5.00pm. You will on occasion be required to work outside of these hours to attend training and colleague events, as well as to meet the needs of our clients and stakeholders. Any additional hours worked will be reimbursed through TOIL arrangements.

We need you to have a driving licence, car and car insurance business cover as some travelling will be required. 

If you are successful, we need you to have an Enhanced Disclosure Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service which we’ll pay for.
