Digital Content Manager

£38,000 plus benefits

Fixed Term Contract

35 hours per week

ORP are recruiting a Digital Content Manager on behalf of a progressive Further Education College based in South East London


  • Develop and implement the wide digital content policy to meet organisational objectives
  • Develop and implement an institutional digital content plan to meet organisational objectives
  • Provide expert advice to teams on new and emerging content platforms, to better engage with its audiences and manage the digital reputation
  • To provide practical advice and support on website development via the Content Management System
  • Develop and implement creative and innovative ideas to attract visitors and improve the online user experience including: microsites, social networking, podcasts, communication programmes, online viral campaigns and digital content campaigns
  • To develop and implement social media content practices aligned to institutional objectives and to work with the media and communications team to ensure social media strategies are informed by digital content practices
  • To establish systems and processes to enable colleagues to maintain/manage their own digital content through agreed guidelines and policies
  • To monitor and manage the performance of our official digital domains against agreed objectives and advise on strategies to improve search engine optimisation
  • To manage and engage with external digital providers for any developments required of the Content Management System and its related technologies
  • To champion the use of the digital content at relevant boards/groups/committees, and to advise senior management on the best use of the digital content as a driver for a better reputation
  • To regularly review the main website and manage any online research projects and make recommendations for improvements
  • To advise and plan for future requirements and the development of the work of digital content through the appropriate Annual Action Plans
  • To work with the Head of Marketing and Communications to develop a distinctive online 'brand’ and a consistent house style through all online channels


  • Successful track record of delivering digital content strategies, providing expert advice on new and emerging content platforms and managing the expectations of a large and number of stakeholders
