Business Development Manager (National Sales Role)

Salary :£35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience + a bonus 20% of the salary, couples with an excellent benefits package

Location: Chesterfield

Leading Insurance Company based with an excellent client base are seeking to attract a Business Development Manager with a natural flair for retentions and sales to join the team in Chesterfield.

In this role you will identify, negotiate and implement new business opportunities, improve profitability and win new business within your portfolio. You should be able to strategically manage and develop a defined portfolio of national accounts within the insurance sector.

This role will be a key position in developing the company's market position and extending the wide portfolio of clients, as such you will need to be a strong negotiator and be able to demonstrate excellent business acumen which will make you an integral part of the sales team.

• Identify, target and win profitable new business in the Insurance / Broker sector
• Effectively manage existing sector relationships, ensuring continued service excellence and contract renewal
• Develop robust business cases and external presentations to engage and influence identified prospects
• Produce and maintain extensive strategic/tactical/operational account plans
• Maintain excellent relationships within the wider Insurance industry to help position Auto Windscreens as the supplier of choice
• Analyse customer business trends and communicate forecasts internally
• Identify customer service delivery requirements and ensure effective delivery in line with agreed standards
• Review the financial and operational performance of the business with customers and investigate changes to achieve maximum account profitability
• Manage a successful communication flow between all parties to exceed customer satisfaction
• Identify new service initiatives with the accounts to introduce the full range of company services

• Minimum 3 years B2B Field Sales / Account Management / Business Development experience in a Service Industry
• Must have proven experience of winning and maintaining new business within a service sector
• Thorough knowledge of strategic account management principles and consultative selling approach
• A proven track record of client acquisition and growth
• High level of business development skills including presentation and bid writing, negotiation and contact management
• Strong drive and ambition is a must for this role
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
• Ability to network at all levels within an organisation
• Demonstrate professionalism and honesty at all times

• Knowledge of FCA rules and guidance and its application to ensure compliance to its fullest extent
