Business Development Manager

Location: Alton or Whiteley
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: £30,000 basic, £75,000 OTE

The Package
• Basic salary depending on experience
• Uncapped commission based on production/lead generation

The Role

As a Relationship Development Manager, you will be responsible for the acquisition and retention of introducers of mortgage and wealth referrals covering a broad spectrum of introducers and will possess extensive experience developing and establishing introducer based distribution relationships.

• Identifying and recruiting new partnerships through:
o Developing a prospect database which reflects a pre agreed target market
o Periodically contacting prospects, ensuring we remain front of mind
o Establish lead gen opportunities within the prospects business. Understand the prospects rationale for opening these channels to us
o Delivering a clear and succinct pitch to senior prospect staff over the phone and face to face
o Lead contract negotiations and prepare cost benefit analysis for approval by Business Development Director

• Growing lead flow from existing partners through:
o Developing existing introducer relationships at both a senior level and with mid-level client facing staff
o Identifying opportunities to grow lead generation either through marketing activity, training of introducer staff or both
o Promoting the broad range of services available through the group, ensuring that revenue opportunities are maximized
o Ensuring regular face to face contact with key accounts
o Reporting to senior introducer management on productivity and revenue
o Daily report on activities and lead generation through the introducer channel
o Work closely with marketing to develop a suite of material to support the delivery of leads into the business
o Liaising with sales/operational staff to ensure that SLAs are delivered
o Report to finance (monthly) on payables
o Preparation of remittance advice and distribution to introducers

• Review sales and other reports to identify where partners may adjust to improve performance

Key Attributes

• Work efficiently and calmly under tight deadlines
• Extensive working knowledge of developing introducer based distribution relationships
• Working knowledge of Financial Services products (ideally mortgages, protection, pensions and investments)
• Great communication/listening skills able to engage with people in a professional and polite manner
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Passion for working with partners and indirectly driving leads and sales
• Outstanding ability to think creatively, and identify and resolve problems
• Attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline driven atmosphere
• Ability to learn new industries and new business types quickly and can apply this knowledge to direct marketing initiatives and achieving business goals
• High levels of integrity, autonomy, and self-motivation
• Identify opportunities in the market and have an excellent awareness of changes in the industry
• Understand the principles of marketing and apply these in your daily duties
• Editing, copywriting and proof reading skills
• To understand Microsoft Outlook / Word / Excel / Power point and any other software packages as required
• In depth knowledge of sales reporting
