Our client, an established and reputable practice in Stockport with easy access to public transport are currently recruiting an experienced Payroll Administrator to join their existing Bureau team. 

You will be managing your own portfolio of clients ( circa 70 clients) and ensuring all payrolls are completed on time, whilst liaising with clients to process their amendments.

You will provide assistance to other team members during busy periods in the payroll calendar.

You will cover all frequencies of payroll including monthly, weekly, fortnightly etc and could be working with clients with 3 employees to 300 employees.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities include

-Make certain BACS agreements are kept up to date
-Ensuring Disaster Recovery details are updated for own client portfolio
-Processing payrolls in own client portfolio, within agreed timescales with firms’ clients
-Keeping up to date in changes to payroll legislation
 -Processing BACS payments for payroll, HMRC and Court Orders as per clients instructions
-Payroll billing for own client portfolio
-Maintenance of payroll file to include changes in payroll processing for each client in portfolio
-Operation of RTI Submissions throughout the financial year
-Amendments of previous year processing, making sure that all RTI submissions have been completed
-Providing manual calculations for Tax, NI, SMP and SSP upon request from client
-Providing assistance to the Payroll Manager and Assistant Manager upon their request
-Keeping up to date in changes to Auto Enrolment legislation & submitting data to pension providers

-Strong Communication skills both in person, in writing and on the telephone
-Current accountancy practice background
-Current and previous experience of running a payroll bureau
-Current and previous experience of managing your own portfolio of payroll clients
-Experience of working in a payroll team environment while being fully competent of managing your own workload and working to strict deadlines
-CPD - desirable. If you are not qualified you must be willing to work towards qualification with appropriate support and financial assistance.
