  • Circa £35,905 per annum (dependent upon experience) + pension, medical and dental insurance
  • 25 days holiday (plus 3 additional days to be taken between Christmas and New Year)
  • Covent Garden location with 4.00pm finish on Fridays

OVERVIEW

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our property department for an Estates Manager to take responsibility for managing and delivering a property portfolio for a wide range of residential, commercial and rural properties located within Central London and Watford on behalf of the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF). The role will also provide support for the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution Care Company (RMBI) property portfolio across England and Wales.

Working within a team of eight, this is a new role and the successful candidate will be able to shape the role into their own, reporting directly to the Property Director and bringing their expertise to the position. This would be an ideal opportunity for an individual at Surveyor level looking to take the next step in their career and wanting to take on more accountability and gaining more autonomy in a role.

Negotiating and influencing skills will be essential for successful performance in this role along with an excellent ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

JOB PURPOSE

  • To ensure that any development work is delivered to project plan by influencing key internal and external stakeholders

  • Vacant units are let to agreed terms with appropriate legal practices underpinning tenant lease agreements

  • Management of MCF & RMBI property portfolio to include rent reviews and lease renewals with appropriate negotiations undertaken with external stakeholders

  • Maintain and manage the property budget in conjunction with the Management Accountant

  • Assist the Property Director with the sale and acquisition of land

  • Preparation of reports for Trustee Meetings

  • Provide advice and guidance to colleagues to enable effective facilities management of the MCF & RMBI property portfolio

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

  • RICS qualification or equivalent professional experience

  • Broad property management experience within a commercial environment

  • Knowledge of commercial leases, assured short-hold tenancy agreements, property statutory requirements and facilities management

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety related to property management

  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Project management skills

  • Budget management skills
