Position purpose: Leadership and support for the Supply Chain Strategy, formulating and executing an ambi-tious Supply Chain plan to deliver a collaborative, agile and market focused Supply Chain proposition for the supply of raw material and associated site purchasing requirements. Working alongside the Sales Order Desk in coordinating and contributing to customer ser-vice planning. Process improvements to assist in the transition of this function from a tradi-tionally transactional relationship with customers and consumers into a collaborative, measurable function that drives sales and forecast improvement opportunities' Develop and Support a Supply Chain Plan, Demand Planning, Vendor Management and In-ventory Management. Major/Key Responsibilities: Vendor Management Manage all internal and external suppliers. Co-ordinate regular vendor meetings in line with a documented schedule. Issue supply forecasts, development and measurement of KPI’s and additional performance metrics to support service feedback. Where appropriate carry out on-site visits and pre-shipment inspections. Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, freight forwarders and warehouse operators. Materials Planning (MRP) Develop and maintain a MRP process Negotiate and place purchase orders and evaluate shipping schedules received from ven-dors. Inventory Management Lead the development of the stock policy for all SKU's to optimise availability, minimise working capital, whilst accounting for scheduled shutdown periods. Manage timely phase in/phase out product transitions to ensure effective life cycle man-agement. Liaise effectively, with suppliers and operational areas, on inventory management initiatives to minimise stock outs. Develop and Manage a Master Stocking Policy, ensuring a clear review process is estab-lished and delivered. Warehouse & Logistics Identify and drive opportunities to optimise the Supply Chain and drive cost efficiencies for all warehousing & transport activities Co-ordinate Audit control process and execution. Lead the management and review of the Supply Chain operating procedures. Measures: Responsible for the collation of Metrics Inventory turns improvements against budget/plan Inventory value against budget/plan Service quality - measured as - on time in full Logistics cost against budget/plan Implementation of change projects - on time - on cost Vendor OTIF Metrics maintenance and review Ovrall purchasing financial results for - budgeted P&L, Scope: Instrumental in the organisation and will play an active role in supporting future challenges in a proactive and beneficial manner Applicants will have a firm understanding of Supply Chain Management and the implemen-tation of such. Hold the drive and knowledge to deliver expert advice and identify opportunities for im-provements whilst managing a varied portfolio of projects Strong background in Supply Chain Management at operational level managing multi-discipline projects. Lead department wide and cross-function projects delivering aggressive schedules. Communication with senior stakeholders Contribution at Strategic Planning Sessions Authority/Decision Making: Supply Chain Budge Senior Management Challenges: Keeping consistency in service levels and managing user expectations for services outside of those agreed. Ability to execute fast accurate and professional results handing multiple tasks and assign-ments in a matrix organisation The ability to recognise pressing issues and resolve immediately or escalate to enable smooth business function. To use the correct balance of tact, diplomacy and motivation to get the job done, often in an environment where the job holder has no direct line authority. Availability: Need for flexible working hours sometimes occurs, ability to be contacted out of business hours; regular travel in GB required, Occasional travel in Europe may be required.
