Field Service Engineer


£22,000 to £24,000

Extras - Annual Company Bonus Scheme (paid in February based on
previous year to November earnings) + Mobile Phone

Hours - Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm (1 hour lunch)
Friday 08:30am to 4:30pm (1/2 hour lunch)

Location - Based in Irlam, Manchester, role covers nationwide

Contract - Permanent (with initial 3 month probation period)

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have the following skills, experiences and attributes…

· You must have a minimum of 1 years experience of working in a servicing role with electro-mechanical products

· Ideally you will have a higher qualification in an engineering discipline

· Current 'Safety Passport' Certification would be preferable

· Current 'Emergency First Aid at Work' certification would be preferable

· Must be able to follow work instructions

· Knowledge of pumps would be beneficial

· Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate on all levels

· Excellent customer service skills both face to face and over the phone

· Must be able to drive ideally with a clean licence

· Flexible and willing to work away from home including regular overnight stays

· Logical and methodical approach to work

· Confident and outgoing

· Proactive and honest

· Able to work autonomously or as part of a team

The Role

Working as a Field Service Engineer you will be part of a small team and spend the first 3-6 months training. This will involve shadowing one of the current engineers while also carrying out in-house training on products. Following this 6 month training period you will then be carrying out your own servicing and basic repairs before moving on to more complex issues after 12 months. The main day to day duties will include…

· Working in-house and on-site at customer premises (requiring regular overnight stays)

· Carrying out the commissioning of new wastewater sampling units on client sites

· Performing maintenance and diagnostic checks on any malfunctioning or damaged units

· Carrying out regular maintenance including changing of consumables such as o rings and valves

· Basic electrical safety testing of serviced/maintained equipment

· Maintaining service paperwork and records

· Offering technical advice and answering customer queries

· Provide training to customers on product use when required
