Assistant Merchandiser

Our client is looking for an experienced Assistant Merchandiser who has experience of raising orders with UK and Far East suppliers, sample approval, price negotiation, quality control and maintaining accurate records of company stock at all times.

Core responsibilities.

  • Preparing new and repeat sales orders in a timely and accurate way to ensure there is sufficient stock to fulfil orders.
  • Tracking and checking samples received from suppliers.
  • Entering orders and stock onto the computer system.
  • Analysis of purchase/sales and forecast reports.
  • Checking delivery notes and invoices for payment approval.
  • Ensuring that all stock is correctly labelled with regard to safety requirements etc. under the direction of the Senior Merchandiser.
  • Obtaining toy safety documentation from suppliers and maintaining information in company system.
  • Assisting senior merchandisers and product manager as required.

To be considered for this role, you must have the following skills and background:

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in order to communicate with suppliers, team members and other departments.
  • A confident, proactive person with strong negotiation skills and the ability to build good relationships with suppliers.
  • Ability to work to challenging schedules and deadlines with a minimum of supervision.
  • Computer literate in Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload in line with the Critical Path.

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm
