We are actively recruiting for a Housing Assistant Night Cover to join our growing team in Haverhill, Suffolk.

You will be working with and giving support to individuals from homeless backgrounds across two schemes.

The Limes and Heazeworth House in Haverhill are Supported accommodation services giving support to 23 customers who may have alcohol/drug dependency, be offenders at risk of re offending and/or mental health issues. The aim of the services is to provide excellent customer centred housing related support to single homeless people with support needs, taking a person centred & positive risk taking approach to enable customers to maintain and improve their independence, effectively manage & improve their personal safety & improve their social, emotional & mental wellbeing.
The primary focus of the service is to enable clients to move on to more suitable accommodation, appropriate to their needs. You will be required to carry out health and safety checks and complete small maintenance repairs.

This role will be offered as a 6 months fixed term contract, with a possibility of extension and permanent opportunities.
The total hours for this position will be 42 hours per week, working 4 nights on, 4 nights off between 6pm - 6am. Please be aware this role will be a mix of sleep in and waking nights. You will be expected to attend team meetings once a month and supervisions every 6 weeks with the line manager and that these will be held between the hours of 9am-5pm.

To qualify for this role, you will have previously worked in a support function and had exposure to working and supporting vulnerable people from homeless backgrounds or similar. You will have experience of lone working and as part of a team, and in an environment where you have needed to respond to crisis situations. You will require basic IT and first aid skills.
