Based in Bury, CBS was formed in 2002, and provides car ownership solutions to companies, with the primary market being solutions tailored direct to the automotive industry. We are now seeking to recruit a Finance Assistant for our expanding team, to provide a comprehensive support service to all areas of the business in relation to the recruitment, management, development and welfare of CBS people.

The Role

Reporting to the Transaction Manager, the Finance Assistant will be responsible for processing AP documents, responding to both AP and AR enquiries and assisting the AR and AP functions. Key tasks include:

  • Register all invoices and identify any that cannot be processed immediately
  • Process Vehicle/Overhead invoices
  • Work closely with suppliers to resolve any invoicing variances
  • Perform regular AP statement reconciliations
  • Contact suppliers for missing invoices
  • Address invoice process issues with internal departments
  • Pay maintenance invoices by credit card
  • Assist with answering AR enquiries via email
  • Assist with Direct Debit Management process
  • Action BACS reports promptly
  • Monitor billing exception reports
  • Assist with other ad hoc tasks within the finance team
  • Play a key role in ensuring the team achieves its KPIs

The Person

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, experience and attributes:

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE Level - English & Maths A-C
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Excellent IT skills including the use of MS Word and Intermediate level MS Excel
  • Team player
  • Ability to adopt a flexible approach to working in a rapidly growing business
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • A high level of organisation and planning skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Committed and hard working

Desirable

  • Finance/Accounting training or qualifications
  • Experience of AP and AR processes and procedures
  • Experience working in the Automotive Sector
  • An interest in cars
  • Experience in the use of MS Dynamics

CBS offers a competitive benefits package including 25 days' annual leave, private medical, non-contributory pension scheme and car schemes. Working hours are Monday - Friday 9-5 with 1 hour for lunch.
