What you'll need to succeed
Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering discipline or progressing towards Chartered Engineer status, Membership of professional institution at least Graduate Membership, eg ICE, CIWEM, Experience of applying engineering concepts, Good standard of written and verbal communication including some experience in making formal presentations in engineering subjects, Proficient in the use of a personal computer and business applications software eg MS Office, Experience of using GIS or mapping systems and AutoCAD are desirable
Using asset inspection data, you will priorities and implement further inspections, monitoring and repairs which will maintain the integrity and safety of the canal network. You will contribute towards the production of a national programme of works and will be responsible for preparing details and specifications for maintenance and repair works and will provide briefing documents for larger scale works. Using your engineering skills, you will provide technical advice and assistance to colleagues, especially when responding to reactive issues.
