We are looking for a Head of Facilities to join our team to be based in either our London Office. As the Head of Facilities, you will be responsible for service excellence in facilities management. The role will ensure, through business partnering and local and specialist support, that a productive and safe working environment is maintained for employees, visitors and contractors at offices and community centres .

The role will also ensure that business offices are used to their most efficient, which will be achieved by implementing leading Housing office strategy.You will be responsible for managing a team that is based across the country to ensure the facility elements are maintained. To be successful in the role, you will require a clear view of office standards and how to deliver in conjunction with other departments such as IT and compliance.

Please note that working hours will be 37.5 per week between Monday to Friday, however there will be occasional weekend work involved.

About the job:
- Provide strategic direction and support for Facilities solutions that enhance business operations in both offices and community centres. Ensure Facilities expertise is available and this informs relevant strategy, policies and a facilities framework that supports service delivery.
- Ensure complies with all legal requirements in facilities and premises management.
- Lead the co-ordination of lease reviews, taking on new office space and the end of leases. Working with other roles as required.
- Lead, develop and manage the performance of the Facilities team so that it functions as a cohesive, high performing team which achieves targets, service standards and continuous improvement.
- Build an effective business partnering relationship for facilities with stakeholders to understand key customer and operational issues and activities; making suitable recommendations and proposals to maximise operational performance and service delivery.
- With the support of Supply Chain Management, appoint and work with external suppliers to ensure that they deliver services in line with Metropolitan`s requirements. Once appointed, drive and manage contracts with strategic partners and third party suppliers to the agreed service level and pricing structure and ensure they remain sustainable for meeting the organisational requirements.
- Use management information, through reporting tools, to gauge the team`s service delivery levels ensuring that any necessary corrective action is taken.
- Set, monitor and report on the service area budget and deliver excellent service standards within budget.
- Ensure effective arrangements are in place for business contingency and risk management. Develop and maintain the coverage and timeliness of premises risk assessments across to ensure legal compliance and that best practice is followed

About you:
- Significant previous experience in Facilities Management
- An excellent communicator across a wide range of audiences, presenting technical issues in a user-friendly manner.
- Able to evidence experience of running a facilities function highly regarded by its stakeholders.
- Significant experience of commercial property relocations and the relationship management of landlords and other relevant bodies
- In possession of recognised qualifications in this field of expertise.
- Abreast of current legal and best-practice thinking in office management.
- Highly analytical. Able to analyse workplace data and make recommendations for improvement or change.
- An appreciation of the regulation associated with working in the charity, not for profit, central or local government sectors.
- An affinity with the work of the social housing / care sector.
- Ability to work from a variety of office locations on a regular basis.
