A fantastic opportunity has arisen with a highly successful organisation for a Procurement Assistant to join the team. This is a newly created role working directly with the Procurement Manager.

The company is going through a period of change and consolidation and has exciting plans ahead for growth and expansion. There are excellent career prospects for the right individual to join at this time.

The Role

The role will entail purchasing parts for service engineers in a fast paced environment and will need someone who is pragmatic, tenacious and confident, with a desire to get things right. A sense of humour is also pretty essential!

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the following:

  • Sourcing stock from suppliers / new suppliers
  • Build and maintain key relationships within the supplier base to achieve maximum flexibility and reliability
  • Raising multi point orders and ensuring delivery
  • Processing high volume orders and adhering to strict delivery deadlines
  • Organising products from Source-Purchasing-final destination delivery
  • Raising purchase orders

The Ideal Candidate

This is an opportunity for someone who has a strong work ethic, a good head for numbers and the confidence to negotiate and who wants to develop within a growing company.

Good PC skills are essential and a quick learner of database and ERP processes would be an advantage

Ideally educated to degree level or relevant experience within a supply chain, purchasing, procurement environment.

An understanding electrical devices would be advantageous but not essential as the role will involve learning product codes/ part numbers for these devices

This role will initially be a 6 month contract with a view to potentially becoming permanent.
