The role is accountable for building sustainable customer relationships and partnerships predominately with CCG’s and hospitals. The main objective is to identify, develop and convert opportunities to contracted business to meet the annual financial targets of the Ambulance Operation. This will involve developing and implementing strategic plans to increase revenue and margin growth by working closely with key internal stakeholders from the initial opportunity to taking the lead to implement all new contracts until they become operational.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain and develop strong working relationships with CCG's and hospitals in the patient transport market to improve patient outcomes
  • Identify, develop and convert opportunities to win new contracted business predominately from CCG’s and Hospitals in line with SJA’s strategy which meets the annual revenue budget and margin target
  • Build compelling proposals that demonstrate how SJA’s offerings can help customers solve their operational problems
  • Identify and develop opportunities to diversify the customer base in line with the strategy working closely with the Sector Managers
  • Keep up to date with and understand the NHS environment, procurement and tender process, funding etc and maintain awareness of market development, potential new business and customer trends
  • Develop relationships with customers that help position SJA as the supplier of choice
  • Work with Sector Managers to ensure any business opportunities are aligned with both the Ambulance Operations strategy, operational capability e.g. skills, vehicles and capacity
  • Attend Contract performance review meetings with Sector Managers to ensure client satisfaction whilst identifying new opportunities
  • Represent SJA at networking events and conferences to establish relationships and identify trends in the market and opportunities for SJA to ensure that SJA to be at the forefront of the market
  • Comprehensively understand our patient transport offerings and those of key competitors to identify new opportunities or potential partnership working
  • Provide up to date information regarding pipeline and prospective customers in keep key stakeholders informed and updated on opportunities
