Our client has a new exciting opportunity for a Macmillan Welfare Benefits Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will join them on a full time, fixed term contract for an initial period of 18 months (with potential annual extension) receive a competitive salary of £30,904 - £36,093 per annum.

About the Macmillan Welfare Benefits Manager Role

The Macmillan Welfare Benefits Team have supported local residents for over 6 years, initially providing a service to North Essex, expanding to Mid and South Essex in 2014 and with plans to extend further into West Essex in 2017. This well-established team, in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, provide vital support for people affected by Cancer in order to maximise their income. They are looking for a dedicated and motivated individual who can lead this team through change whilst establishing key partnerships within acute settings including hospitals, hospices and other supportive services.

What they’re looking for in their Macmillan Welfare Benefits Manager

The team are committed to providing solutions and advice for customers with complex issues relating to welfare benefits. Ideally they are looking for an individual with good knowledge of welfare benefits, appeals processes and wider welfare issues such as housing, debt management and budgeting. In addition experience of working within a health environment or with people affected by cancer would be beneficial.

As their Welfare Benefits Manager you will report directly to the Customer Solutions Manager and will be responsible for a Senior Welfare Benefits Officer, Technical Support Officers and Welfare Benefits Officers. Excellent communication skills will be essential as well as an ability to influence decision makers.
