My client is looking for a Head of Nursing and Quality for their hospital based near Stoke-on-Trent.

This is a senior role within the Hospital and a core role within the Senior Management Team with the post holder providing highly visible and clinical leadership within the MDT, ensuring that the quality of care delivered is to the highest possible standard.

Key responsibilities & duties

As The Head of Nursing and Quality working in our Adult Mental Health Low Secure Service your main duties will be:- Leading in the development and delivery of an on-going quality improvement plan that encompasses the organisations values, quality priorities, and staff and patients views Participating in the Group Nurses Forum To actively promote, develop and secure a quality improvement culture by improving the knowledge and understanding of managers and staff through effective training and staff engagement programmes Ensuring that the service has in place a system to investigate report on and review all serious incidents in a timely way, providing quality assurance of incident reporting and learning systems throughout the hospital site and other hospitals in the group. To support the Hospital Director to initiate, develop, implement, evaluate and maintain a comprehensive patient safety / incident management process across the full range of the Hospital’s activities To Chair the Serious Incident review meeting to ensure all SI’s are investigated, action plans are developed and monitored To Chair the Local Integrated Governance meetings and oversee the risk register, on behalf of the Hospital Director To coordinate and lead the Assurance Framework To lead and oversee all associated quality governance frameworks across the hospital including associated action plans from external stakeholders To work closely with the Ward Managers to ensure that all patient safety elements are progressed and that wider is support is provided to the governance agenda To oversee and lead the Hospital’s complaints policy and ensure all complaints are investigated and responded to in a timely manner To liaise with Pharmacy Service Provider ensuring compliance with all auditing systems and support staff to achieve standards of excellence To lead on and oversee all Pre-Registration Nurse Placements in partnership with local Universities Work experience & qualifications

To join as The Head of Quality and Nursing you will be:-

An NMC qualified Clinical Practitioner (RMN/RNLD) with current NMC registration Able to demonstrate significant experience in a clinical leadership role Experienced in leading programmes of change within a healthcare setting including role redesign Able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of quality and regulatory standards within health services An expert in governance and risk management Experienced in managing and hearing performance issues in a formal setting IT literate with skills to manage and report on complex performance management information An excellent communicator with effective written an oral communication skills Able to work collaboratively with partner organisations Able to influence and motivate staff to deliver challenging targets A strategic thinker with excellent problem solving skills Able to provide a proven record of pro-active performance management within a large clinical area Able to travel to other sites/locations if required
