Job Title: Plans Checker; Building Surveyor (MRICS; TechRICS; MBEng: MCIOB)
Location: Home based
Salary: circa £40k plus benefits

The Opportunity

The Role
In your new role as Plans Checker you'll use your experience as a Fully Qualified Surveyor to asses and process building regulation applications and work with builders and/or technical staff to develop good customer relations. This will include taking responsibility for the assessment of building regulation applications for all types of development (typically over 11 metres high) and liaise with clients to ensure effective compliance with the Building Regulations and technical issues are met. .
The Plans Checker will examine detailed drawings and supplementary information and issue site and type approvals to clients promptly.
You'll also liaise with existing and potential clients to promote company services and support inspection staff by providing expert advice. Occasional meetings are Head Office and client meetings will be required but the majority of time you will have the freedom to work from home.

The Candidate
If you are a fully qualified Surveyor (MRICS, TechRICS, MBEng, MCIOB or similar) you would be perfect for this role.
If you have technical knowledge of Building Regulations and other relevant construction standards and have the experience of undertaking site inspections to assess quality and cause/effect of building defects then the Plans Checker role is for you. Owing to the nature of the role you will need demonstrable experience of meeting deadlines and managing own workload and a full UK driving licence is essential.
As you'll be working from home but attending meetings as required then a flexible personal approach is required.
