Grafton Banks Finance is currently exclusively recruiting for a Financial Controller for a growing and profitable £32m turnover manufacturing company with offices near Reigate Surrey. You will need to be a fully qualified accountant with experience of working within the manufacturing sector in order to apply. Reporting to the MD you will take responsibility for:
*Development and management of the Finance Function for all sites in the UK including implementation and regular review of effective internal controls in accordance with UK GAAP.

*Provision of accurate and comprehensive financial information to the company management team developing KPI's and reporting to suit the business needs and in line with Parent Company requirements. Agree action plans to correct budget deviations and potentially negative trends.

*Maintain comprehensive records of all assets purchased and owned by the company to ensure they are secure and continue to provide benefit to the company. Ensure all fixed assets are permanently marked.

*Management of the credit control function to ensure all customer balances are reconciled on a monthly basis and work with the sales teams to ensure that agreed debtor targets are exceeded and any corrective actions are in place for any debt outside agreed terms.

*Efficient management of banking functions for all sites to keep bank charges to a minimum and interest to a maximum, ensuring transactions are recorded and reconciled correctly on the General Ledger.

*Manage the cash pooling bank account to ensure parent company obligations are met.

*Manage all aspects of VAT and statistics as required by law, including maintaining the records required.

*Ensure the stock integrity on all UK sites and stock records are maintained in order to withstand financial audit requirements in line with UK GAAP. Ensure cycle counting plans are in time and all sites meet their stock turn targets through action plans agreed.

*Manage the yearly financial audit ensuring that the annual accounts are produced in accordance with UK GAAP and submitted to Companies House in a timely fashion.

*Manage the compilation of the Parent Company Consolidation Accounts within the agreed timescales.

*Ensure that all Companies House requirements and the official books and records of the group companies are maintained.

*Check monthly management accounts and other agreed month-end data as required by the Parent Company in a timely fashion.

*Within the law, minimise the corporation tax liability and ensure that the payment of any corporation tax that is due is made in line with HMRC requirements.

*Manage the maintenance and development of the computer system "in line" with the Company's business objectives and budget.

*Through the business support function promote and share 'best practice' in the interests of maintaining business integrity and improving efficiency and effectiveness.

*Ensure that the IT department is managing the telecoms and IT infrastructure efficiently and in a cost effective way to all sites in the UK group.

*Work with the Managing Director & Management Team on other projects and assignments where appropriate.

Experience of working within the manufacturing or distribution sector is essential as is an understanding of stock accounting and control as well as exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, AX or Oracle.
