H9 Technical are proud to be partnering a market-leading manufacturing business in the recruitment of a Principle Development Engineer, to be part of the companies Research & Development department, based at the Head Office in Deeside, North Wales.

Role Summary:

As a Principle Development Engineer, you will be expected to manage and develop new product designs and improve current designs. You will also be expected to manage and lead testing activities on new and existing designs.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

·Drive product development activity, co-ordinating the work of others involved and responding to changes

·Play a key role in the development of other team members by leading by example

·Play a key role in the technical direction of development activity

·Develop and manage specifications for new products

·Develop design solutions to meet specifications in line with programme requirements

·To work to schedule and cost targets, managing own individual tasks, and lead medium/large sized projects

·Develop test equipment, visualisation and measurement techniques to help set-up or characterise equipment.

·Lead design reviews and FMEAs providing advice and guidance on testing and validation issues.Give feedback and advice on current products and future development.

·To conduct and implement risk assessments of all development work and to ensure a safe environment is maintained at all times.

Candidate Profile:

·Educated to at least degree level in mechanical engineering or similar field

·Minimum of 7 years Design experience with responsibility for Design/Analysis/Validation of complex parts in batch production environment

·Experience of the design process particularly taking new concepts through validation to production

·Experience of working in a structured and controlled engineering development environment

·Experience of working with 3D CAD (Solid Edge desirable) and spread sheet packages for engineering applications

·Familiar with instrumentation, electronic and electrical measurement techniques

·The ability to plan their own work load and those of others to ensure overall success of the development department
