BMA are actively hiring for a Business Development Manager for one of our clients who are a leading Courier company based in West London. Offering a great Basic with a very attractive commission structure.

Job Summary

To develop and broaden the Clients sales relationship with new Customers, while identifying and qualifying profitable opportunities for new product sales, maximising sales penetration and revenue within each Customer account

Professionally manage Customer contact and provide support where required, ensuring the Customer experience is positive

Main Responsibilities:
Develop active and new relationships with customers and their key decision makers

Work together with the Clients Telemarketing team to develop potential leads Work autonomously to manage the Customer relationship and to exceed the Customer’s expectations

Attend appointment with decision maker with view to identifying client needs, presenting specific company information and completing live courier booking software demonstrations tailored to the client where appropriate.

Demonstrate strong knowledge of the Clients product portfolio and all associated features and benefits and to match those benefits to the needs of the customer

Track performance of accounts (revenue), opportunity and scope to build and maintain customer relations.

Identify opportunities to facilitate an increase the Clients share of the Customer’s wallet

Submit accurate and timely business information when required

Continually look to improve and develop knowledge and to share that with colleagues.

Meet required sales targets and review performance progress on a regular basis

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Extensive experience within either the courier or a related industry

Strong sales skills (prospecting, qualifying, campaign management)

Excellent networking ability and natural communication style

Excellent presentation skills

Proven success against sales targets

Undergone professional sales and negotiating training

Proven account management and development skills

Time management and planning skills

Able to travel within designated territory and able to work with the minimum of supervision

Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Email, Power Point)

CRM (Sage, Salesforce, Siebel etc.)

Personal Specifications:

Highly numerate

Ability to articulate both verbally and in written form

Happy to work both alone and as part of a team

Skilled listener, able to understand and empathise with Customers whilst understanding context and the Customer supplier relationship

Ability to self-motivate and work with the minimum of supervision

Have a problem solving attitude and relish the challenge that obstacles may present

Have consistent drive and energy

Strong work ethic


Presents a well prepared and professional image at all times

Must have car and clean driving Licence

Must have worked in a sales role within a courier company.
